I’ve been waiting for this moment for almost 3 years now…
finally…Dune: Part II has landed.
Some of you might be rolling your eyes right about now. But I don’t care.
I am a Dune nerd and I am proud.
What did I see? Obviously, Dune: Part II…twice. Yes, it came out Friday and I’ve already seen it twice in theatres and I am not ashamed.
For those who don’t know, Dune is the most epic sci fi book ever written (imho). Now before you say, “but…Star Wars!” No.
Dune was written before Star Wars and is mere Dune fan fiction. I said what I said.
Anyway, I think you already know that I loved this movie. I especially loved the scene with Lady Margot where she used her seductive Bene Gesserit skills to manipulate Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen (he’s a bad guy).
Some may say the Bene Gesserit are also “bad” but I think they’re cool af. Basically, they’re Jedi witches who secretly control the universe. Need I say more?
What did I touch? Lots of tiny rocks in all shapes and textures. We had a nice Spring day here on Long Island yesterday (now it’s raining as I write this) and I took a walk on the beach. I chatted with my best friend, ate popcorn, and arranged rocks on the sand like a meditation. It was quite lovely.
What did I hear? Ok, back to Dune. Besides how incredible the visuals are in these movies, the soundtrack is just as good. So, so powerful. Wouldn’t expect anything less from Hans Zimmer. Listen here.
What did I taste? I made salmon bowls with my good friend Nick. We like to cook together and this meal was so fulfilling. It’s really easy to make, too. Broil salmon with a bit a seasoning and cook sticky sushi rice. Top the rice with salmon, cucumber, avocado, veggies of your choice, and spicy mayo. That’s it!
What did I smell? Rose essential oil from Plant Therapy. I bought this particular oil to use with the practices in an incredible online program I joined this year called Daughters of the Rose with The Rose Lineage. This has been life-changing already, and we’ve already just begun. Rose essential oil is particularly precious because of the process it requires to create the oil. I’ve found it incredibly supportive for heart opening, womb healing, and sensual empowerment.
